Our Size & Location
Umpqua Community College has one of the most picturesque campuses in the country. Nestled between
beautiful tree-studded hills, it overlooks a large bend in the North Umpqua River. Natural volcanic
rock and rustic, cedar shake architecture grace the 17 campus buildings located on a 100-acres six
miles north of Roseburg, Oregon. Mild year-round climate complement the scenic beauty of the campus.
Roseburg is a beautiful city surrounded
by rolling hills and bordered by two mountain ranges. We are located in
Douglas County, Oregon's Timber Capital.
Roseburg is 180 miles south of
Portland,
Oregon; 80 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean; and 400 miles north of San Francisco, California.
What UCC has to Offer
Umpqua Community College (UCC) is a post-secondary institution which enables students to
complete the first two years of university coursework with an Associate Degree or to complete an Associate in Applied
Science Degree in a Professional Technical field. Our students have the advantage of
smaller classes and more personal attention than they would receive at a large university.
We maintain a close relationship with the Oregon universities and have agreements with them
which enable our graduates to enter the university as juniors and to complete their
university degrees with only two additional years of education in most cases.
Many international students who want to feel more comfortable with their English language
proficiency choose to come to Umpqua. Our international students find that they have more
involvement with English speaking students and members of the community here and so learn
the language more quickly than they would if they were living and associating with a large
group of students from their own culture at a large university. We strive to keep a small,
balanced number of students from various areas of the world so that the experience our
students have maximizes their opportunity to learn English and to become involved with
people of other nations as well.

The Board of Directors for Umpqua Community College sets the amount of tuition and fees each year. It is the philosophy of the Board to keep both tuition and fees as low as possible.
Use this link to view the current
tuition cost at UCC.
UCC Requires a Tuition Deposit
When an applicant has been accepted for study at UCC a direct deposit must be made in the
student's name. A minimum of $4,000 (USA currency) must be deposited into Umpqua Community College's bank
account to cover the first term of attendance (12 credits tuition, fees, books & first year of Accident and Illness Insurance Premiums only).
Upon completing the Wire Transfer/Direct Deposit, the student must FAX the receipt to the
International Admissions Office at (541) 440-7713
or mail the receipt to our office. The deposit receipt is required before
the I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility Document) will be released to the student and for
tracking the transaction. The receipt will also initiate the student's account and guarantee
the money be available for initial student expenditures.
NOTE: Umpqua Community College bank account information, required to complete the Direct Deposit or Wire
Transfer Deposit transaction, will be provided in the student's letter of acceptance.
Homestay Assistance
UCC international students occasionally prefer a homestay with an American family, while others prefer
to live in apartments in the community. The homestay arrangement not only helps students become
accustomed to our community and our culture, but it also accelerates the rate at which they learn English.
If you are interested in an American homestay, please read the
homestay guidelines, complete the
homestay application and send to the
UCC's International Admission's Office.
