EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Develop, implement and evaluate the learning activities that provide the student with goals/objectives/outcomes, competencies for their particular course content.
Assist with construction, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum.
Assist with the development and evaluation of policies and standards for the selection, admission, promotion and graduation of nursing students within the framework of the policies of the college.
Develop, implement and evaluate student practice experiences including selection of learning activities, assessment and guidance of the student, and evaluation of client and student safety and learning outcomes.
Integrate critical thinking and community-based principles throughout content and clinical areas of instruction.
Evaluate student achievement in terms of course and program learning goals/outcomes/objectives/competencies, assign grades for courses according to policies of the college.
Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of statements of policies necessary for the operation of the program.
Participate in academic advising of students.
Conduct a minimum of 5 office hours per week to assist students.
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Provide for student evaluation of teaching effectiveness.
Interpret the program goals and learning objective/performance outcomes for the students with the staff of the clinical practice sites.
Participate in periodic review of the total nursing program.
Participate in determining academic policies and procedures of the institution.
Participate cooperatively with other educational programs and agencies to develop appropriate and equitable access to practice (clinical) sites.
Participate in educational programs to maintain expertise in teaching specialties.
Develop, implement and administer new educational platforms ie simulation, PDA utilization, on-line learning course management systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters in Nursing from an accredited institution, required. Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required by start date. Current CPR certification and ability to successfully complete a criminal history clearance.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years recent full-time nursing experience required. One year teaching inservice education or 1 year college-level teaching experience preferred.
SALARY:$41,958 per year, Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule, Step 1.
