PT Teachers Assistant (9 mths)

Responsible to:  Director of Ford Family Center

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Assist the lead teacher with supervision and implementation of the Ford Family Center Program in accordance with its philosophy and policies.
  • Assist in the design of a preschool/infant and toddler program that meets the needs of individual children with regard for their special interests, handicaps, talents age and abilities, individual style and pace of learning.
  • Guide children in a manner consistent with center policies and in a manner which enhances the children's development.
  • Assist children in acquiring self-help skills, including toileting, eating, dressing, napping, etc.
  • Use appropriate health and sanitation techniques; supervise others in maintaining standards.
  • Assist and supervise Early Childhood Education Students in their practicum assignments and responsibilities.
  • Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of UCC's Child Care Center.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA or AS degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or equivalent preferred.
  • One year certificate in Early Childhood Education or one year qualifying teaching experience.
  • Registration in the Oregon Child Care Division's Criminal History Registry.

    SALARY:$9.30 per hour, Part-time 2008-09 Classified Salary Schedule, Grade 11, Step 1
