NSRC Simulation Technician

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Running and maintaining all types of simulation manikins both via computer application or manually.
Running both MicroSoft Windows XP and Apple (Mac) software.
Moulage manikins for simulations (use of make-up and moulage to make simulated bodily secretions).
Cleaning and upkeep of all manikins and other medical equipment.
Able to troubleshoot office equipment (fax, copier, network printer, phone).
Open/shutdown lab in preparation for daily lab experiences (have simulators on, moulage and set-up for faculty).
Maintain AV equipment both permanent and portable.
Run cameras, audio and recording equipment at both high fidelity stations.
Run DVD recording and filming/recording equipment.
Maintain a log/file of DVD simulations for faculty review and evaluation.
Build a simulation library.
Under the supervision of the NSRC Simulation Lab Coordinator, ordering and restocking of medical/ office supplies - keeping accurate inventory of needed materials for all lab sessions.
Keep schedule and calendar of NSRC activities.
Keep logs of students utilization/filing and minimal record keeping activities.
Learn to manage the technical aspects of Pyxis, Noelle, EFHM, vital sim's equipment, and vital sign monitors.
Provide lab coverage for students arriving/departing, receipt of supplies and deliveries.
Troubleshoot simple computer issues for student nurses and interface with MMC/ UCC IT departments, ie: Moodle, Med-a-tech, Micromedix, and other computer programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
AAS in Computer Technology or related field.
Have attended or will attend an OSA or other approved Simulation courses at the basic level & plan to complete the advanced courses as they become available.
Technology:
Demonstrated knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows and Apple), and multimedia software.
Preferred experience with Laerdal SIM MAN manikin & the METI HPS.
Experience:
One year multimedia technology or simulation training experience preferred.
SALARY:
$29,422 per year, Full-Time 2007-08 Classified Salary Schedule, Grade 28, Step 1.
