NSRC Simulation/Lab Coordinator

Responsible to:
Director of Health Occupations and Dean of Career and Technical Education and the Vice President of Instruction.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assist with, and implement the learning activities that provide the student with goals/objectives/outcomes, competencies for nursing skills content.
Assist with construction, implementation, evaluation and revision of nursing skills.
Assist with and have input into the development and evaluation of policies and standards for the promotion and graduation of nursing students within the framework of the policies of the program.
Participate in giving feedback to faculty regarding how students met the simulation learning goals/outcomes/objectives/competencies.
Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of statements of policies necessary for the operation of the NSRC as it relates to the overall program.
Oversee technician to maintain lab schedule to maximize utilization between college needs & hospital needs.
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Provide for student feedback on the simulation experiences.
Interpret the program goals and learning objective/performance outcomes for the students with the staff of the clinical practice sites.
Participate in periodic review of the total nursing program.
Participate in determining academic policies and procedures of the institution.
Participate cooperatively with other educational programs and agencies to develop appropriate and equitable access to practice (clinical) sites.
Oversight of the technician in regard to ordering & stocking medical equipment & supplies
Instruct the technician on how to compile stats and other data that may be deemed necessary.
Implement and run simulation exercises using the Laerdal SIM MAN manikin & the METI HPS.
Maintain technical expertise in creating, implementing and running simulations.
Supervise and evaluate the NSRC Technician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of three (3) years recent full-time nursing or health related experience required.
One year multimedia technology or simulation training experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows and Apple), and multimedia software.
Preferred experience with Laerdal SIM MAN manikin & the METI HPS.
BSN in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred.
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required by start date.
Current CPR certification and ability to successfully complete a criminal history clearance.
Have attended OSA or other approved Simulation courses at the basic level & plan to complete the advanced courses as they become available.
SALARY:
$40,000-50,000 Full-Time, 2007-08 Confidential-Exempt Salary Schedule, Level B
