Winchester— There still are spots available for foursomes for the popular Umpqua Community College Foundation Golf Tournament, held this year at the challenging Myrtle Creek Gold Club on Friday, July 18.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to create a child care grant endowment for UCC students using the Ford Family Center at the College. Those wishing to enter a foursome should call Debra George, foundation specialist, at 440-7847. Spots are filling up quickly. Individual registration is $100; teams of four, $400.
The tournament opens at 11:15 am, with lunch at 12:30 pm. The tournament features a shotgun start, and a four-person scramble. All players receive 18 holes of golf, use of a cart, player gift, lunch, beverages on the course, after-tournament refreshments and a raffle ticket for prizes. Players may buy additional raffle tickets for great prizes. Mulligans will be for sale and photographs available for all players. Additionally, there are a number of prizes that players can compete for, including a hole-in-one prize, a 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
