Budget Timeline

For Fiscal Year 2016-17 


  • Revenue estimates will be established
  • February 11-12 (Th-F): Budget Process Overview for Staff
  • February 17-22 (W-M): Budget Worksheets distributed to Directors and Level I groups (departments & staff) will begin reviewing their budget requests
  • Budget forecast/message sent to campus community
  • Establish enrollment projections
  • Continue instructional planning


  • March 1 (Tu): Level I submit Budget Worksheets to Level II groups (Directors, Deans)
  • March 8 (Tu): Level II submit Budget Worksheets to Level III (V.P.)
  • March 16 (W): Level III submit all budget requests to the Budget Administrator
  • Review revenue projections
  • Establish enrollment projections
  • Review revenue and enrollment projections
  • March 24 (Th): Draft Budget document submitted to Budget Committee for review.


  • Budget forecast/message sent to campus community
  • April 10 (S): Publish 1st “Notice of Budget Committee Meeting”
  • Continue monitoring revenue and enrollment projections
  • April 18 (M): Budget draft is to be finalized
  • April 24 (Su): Publish 2nd “Notice of Budget Committee Meeting” (Via Website)


  • May 4 (W): Hold First External Budget Committee Meeting
  • May 18 (W): The second reading of the budget by the Board of Trustees (If needed)
  • May 22 (Su): Publish “Notice of Budget Hearing”


  • June 8 (W): The Board of Trustees adopts the budget
  • Budget data is loaded into management system
  • Budget is made available on the WEB
  • Budget is posted as required by law
  • Hold budget process debriefing
