Trucker to Trucker Scholarship - New!

Douglas County Chapter of the Oregon Employer Council - New!

Amount: $1200/year for two years

Deadline: April 30, 2015

What are the requirements?

  1. Be employed by or a dependent family member of an employer who is a member of the local Oregon Employer Council (UCC is a member)
  2. Enroll or plan to enroll in a two-year program at UCC and maintain a 2.0 GPA
  3. Provide the OEC with quarterly grades.

The Dr. Devin Brice Scholarship - New!

Amount: $250

Deadline: October 1, 2015

What are the requirements?

  1. Applicants must either be enrolled in a Oregon college while actively working towards a four year degree and taking a minimum of 12 credits a semester OR they must be Oregon high school students who intend to earn a four year degree in the future.
  2. Applicants must have documentation showing they currently reside in Oregon.
  3. Applicants should have a strong desire to earn a four year degree and possess leadership qualities.

Aspiring Tradesperson Scholarship - New!

Amount: $1000

Deadline: July 1, 2015

What are the requirements?

  1. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 for the prior semester where applicable, or otherwise academic status in “good standing” if GPA is not applicable.
  2. Must be pursuing a degree or certification in a Skilled Trade field.
  3. The winner must apply the full amount of the scholarship towards tuition, books, training materials, and/or other costs directly associated with their education within 12 months of receiving the award.
  4. Prior recipients of the award are not eligible to apply for the award in subsequent years.

What are the requirements?

  1. Must be a resident of the United States.
  2. Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited four or two-year college or trade school.
  3. Please provide the address of the college’s Financial Aid Office in your application.
  4. Please provide your college student identification number in your application.
  5. Students must hold a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® Scholarship Program

Amount: $2,000 and a customized Westward® toolkit

Deadline: March 24th, 2015 at 4:00pm

The Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarship program awards financial assistance for tuition and books to outstanding students earning an associate's degree or certificate in Skilled Trade fields, including electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, welding, automotive, construction, facilities maintenance or other industrial trades or Public Safety fields, including first responder, law enforcement (city, county, state), prison guard, firefighter, fire safety, emergency medical technician, emergency management and disaster preparedness programs.

What are the requirements?

  • Be enrolled at one of the participating community colleges (UCC is a participating school) for at least 12 course credit hours per term
  • Be enrolled in a Skilled Trades program, including electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, welding, automotive, construction, facilities maintenance or industrial trades or a Public Safety program, including first responder, law enforcement (city, county, state), prison guard, firefighter, fire safety, emergency medical technician, emergency management or disaster preparedness
  • Will graduate from a community college trade program in June of 2016
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Grainger employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply

Umpqua Valley Hoo-Hoo-Ettes - New!

What are the requirements?

  1. Applicants must be enrolling as full-time students in the fall of 2015.
  2. Applicants must be a dependent child of a person employed in or displaced from the timber industry.
  3. Student must have a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  4. This scholarship opportunity will help cover tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies directly related to or required for the classes in which the student is currently enrolled.

Cascade Community Credit Union's Irene Murphy Scholarship

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: March 13th, 2015

What are the requirements?

  1. Applicant must be a member of Cascade Community Federal Credit Union with an account in his/her name.       
  2. Applicant must not have graduated from high school more than 5 years prior to application.
  3. Applicant must be eligible for enrollment as a full time student at an eligible institution. Eligible institutions include any public or private generally accredited post-secondary institution. Full time student status shall be defined by the institution the applicant enrolls in.
  4. Graduating high school applicants must have accumulated a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. College applicants must have accumulated a grade point average of 3.25 or higher. College students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.25. An official college transcript verifying GPA must be provided before payments will be made the 2nd-4th years.

  5. This scholarship opportunity will help cover tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies directly related to or required for the classes in which the student is currently enrolled.
  6. One of the two scholarships will be for a nursing student.  Verification of being in the nursing program or acceptance into the program will be required prior to funding being disbursed.
