The College and Career Readiness program, located at the UCC Woolley Center, provides help and support every step of your way. Whether you are preparing for GED® exams, learning English, or building your math and reading skills, we’ll help you get there.

GED® Preparation

A GED® certification gives you access to more jobs, advanced workplace training, and higher education. Complete your GED® preparation at the Woolley Center and get access to many benefits and services:

  • Advisors to help you with your next step, whether college, career, or the military
  • No tuition or fees
  • Testing vouchers may be available for GED® tests after minimum requirements are met.
  • 12-credit UCC tuition waiver after 60 attendance hours & GED® completion at The Woolley Center (must use within one year)
  • Book, calculator and laptop checkouts

FAQs

Q: How much does it cost to attend classes?
A: There are no costs for attending classes at the Woolley Center.

Q: How much does the GED® test cost to take?
A: The GED® test usually costs $176, but we provide eligible students with testing vouchers (restrictions apply).

Q: Are there age limits for getting my GED®?
A: You must be at least 16 years old by the start of orientation; students under 18 must have a release from their school district or ESD—contact us and we can help you with the release.

Q: How long does it take to get my GED®?
A: Students work at their own pace, so it will be different for everyone. The average time to complete is around 15 weeks, but it depends on the time and effort you put in.

Q: How do I complete my GED®?
A: You must earn a score of 145 or higher on each of the four GED® subject tests: Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Math.

  3. Attend orientation (a 5-hour block of time where you will set up your ged.com and student accounts, learn information about the program and take CASAS reading and math placement testing)
