Umpqua Community College is the regional center for higher education in Douglas County, Oregon, proudly offering an ever-expanding array of in-demand college degree, workforce development, and community learning programs.
Thank you for your interest in EMT Part 1 at Umpqua Community College. Clinical
experience is an essential part of the program, and UCC partners with numerous healthcare facilities throughout the county. As guests in these facilities, students must meet all clinical requirements before registration.
Required Immunizations
Students must provide official documentation of vaccination, immunity by titer, or valid history of disease. Records from the Oregon ALERT IIS (https://www.alertiis.org/) are accepted.
• Hepatitis B (Hep B): 3-shot series
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): 2-shot series
• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap): booster required if more than 10 years since last Td
• Varicella (Chickenpox): vaccination record or documented date of disease
Recommended but not required:
• Influenza (seasonal flu)
• Polio
• COVID-19
Step 1: Submit Immunization Records to Get Registered
To be registered for the course, students must provide proof of completion of all required immunizations.

– The specific EMT class you want to register for.
Once your records are reviewed and approved, you will be assigned a mandatory orientation date, and the program will register you for the class.
Spots are limited. Students who submit records after the class is full will be placed on a wait list. Waitlisted students may be invited to attend orientation to learn about next steps depending on their place on the wait list.

Additional Requirements (Completed After Registration)
After you are officially registered, you will receive instructions on how to complete the following at orientation:
• Criminal Background Check
• Tuberculosis Screening
• 12-Panel Drug Screen (including THC)
• Physical Agility
These must be completed before clinical rotations begin, but they are not required to get registered.
Fall EMT
Cohort 1: Tuesday/Thursday 1630-2020
Cohort 2: Wednesday/Friday 1330-1720
Winter EMT
Cohort 1: Wednesday/Friday 0800-1200
