Emergency Medical Services

EMT Program

Thank you for your interest in EMT Part 1 at Umpqua Community College. Clinical
experience is an essential part of the program, and UCC partners with numerous healthcare facilities throughout the county. As guests in these facilities, students must meet all clinical requirements before registration.

Required Immunizations

Students must provide official documentation of vaccination, immunity by titer, or valid history of disease. Records from the Oregon ALERT IIS (https://www.alertiis.org/) are accepted.

• Hepatitis B (Hep B): 3-shot series

• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): 2-shot series

• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap): booster required if more than 10 years since last Td

• Varicella (Chickenpox): vaccination record or documented date of disease

Recommended but not required:

• Influenza (seasonal flu)

• Polio
• COVID-19

Step 1: Submit Immunization Records to Get Registered

To be registered for the course, students must provide proof of completion of all required immunizations.

Submit your records by email to:

[email protected]

In your email, please include:

– Your immunization records (see list below), and

– The specific EMT class you want to register for.

Once your records are reviewed and approved, you will be assigned a mandatory orientation date, and the program will register you for the class.

Spots are limited. Students who submit records after the class is full will be placed on a wait list. Waitlisted students may be invited to attend orientation to learn about next steps depending on their place on the wait list.
