Scholars for Health Oregon Initiative-Like (SHOI) $300k Scholarship Funds

Covers the cost of Tuition & Fees

This grant, provided through the Oregon Health Authority, will pay for students tuition and fees in the following three training programs.

 

  1. Peer Recovery Mentor: This course helps students interested in becoming a Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) obtain the skills, resources, and evidence-based practices that are essential for Peer Delivered services in an Addiction Treatment environment.
  2. Addiction Treatment: This is a 6-month course that meets the educational hours to complete the Oregon Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I) exam and enter the substance abuse treatment field.
  3. Addiction Studies: A year-long program that fully addresses the multiple perspectives of the addiction process.  Student that complete the program are eligible to take the Oregon Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC1) exam.

The Oregon Health Authority financial assistance program is designed to increase the number of health professionals in areas lacking trained employees. The program will cover the tuition and fees for students who have plans to earn one of the eligible certificates, want to work in an underserved area within Oregon immediately after earning their certificate, and complete the required components of this application.
