#GivingTuesday is a day that encourages and engages people to do good and to build a world in which the power of generosity is at the heart of the world we build together – one grounded in dignity, opportunity, and equity.
On Tuesday, December 1, Phi Theta Kappa, in collaboration with ASUCC Leadership, Student Engagement, and the UCC Foundation, is launching the Danna-May - Go4Students - Scholarship Fundraiser. The goal for #GivingTuesday is to raise $5,000 which will be matched – dollar for dollar, by ASUCC. Ultimately, the goal is to raise $17,000; $15,000 to establish the endowment and $2,000 to provide a $500 scholarship for the next four years while the endowment reaches sustainability for a yearly scholarship.
Danna-May Blommer’s perseverance and determination led her to her UCC Associates degree in 2015, her Bachelors from EOU in 2017, and what would have been her Master’s degree from Western Governor’s this year. As a student, Danna-May could be found at the Information Desk and at the Library Desk, helping her peers find answers to their questions and always encouraging them to believe in themselves and the power of their education. In 2017, she became a valued part of UCC’s staff as the Career Coach. Along her journey, Danna-May touched many people’s lives and their hearts. She cared deeply about helping students realize their dreams. Continuing her legacy is at the heart of her scholarship.
Join PTK Officers on Facebook from 8:00 a.m. - 8 p.m. on #GivingTuesday; they’ll be live throughout the day, sharing stories from UCC students, alumni, and staff about the impact Danna-May had on their lives.
To donate for the Danna-May Go4Students Scholarship, under "Designation" simply select "Other" and in the space provided type "Danna-May Scholarship". Thank you very much!
