Nursing Department is seeking students to maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursing skills lab. Day to day tasks will include, but are not limited to setup and tear down equipment and supplies for lab classes and simulations, restock supplies and ensure inventory is up to date, disinfect manikins, beds, and medical equipment after use, assist instructors with preparation of demonstration materials. Assistants will also provide basic guidance to nursing students on proper use of lab equipment (as instructed), answer questions about lab procedures and policies or direct students to the appropriate staff, support faculty during simulation exercises (e.g., acting as a patient, monitoring scenarios). Administrative tasks to be performed could include track supply usage and report low stock to supervisor, maintain accurate logs of equipment check-outs and returns, assist with filing, data entry, or other clerical tasks related to lab operations, assist with tours or open houses when requested, and support special projects or events coordinated by the nursing department.
Candidates would also ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper disposal of sharps and biohazard materials, report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to lab supervisor, participate in required lab safety trainings.
Candidates must be current UCC students in the PN or RN program.
