Peer Tutors will assist in building up student skills to encourage successful lifelong learning. Essential job functions include but are not limited to: tutor individuals and small groups in specific course work, provide personal support and encouragement for students as needed, build skills essential for being a successful college student, regular attendance necessary, attend scheduled tutor training sessions, and keep the tutoring area clean and organized. Candidate would also take inventory and stock classroom supplies and beverage bar as necessary and conduct self as a representative of the college.

The eligible candidate would be able to work in crowded and noisy areas which occurs daily, bend, kneel, lift/carry 0-14 pounds, stoop, and twist body is a regular occurrence. Ability to identify colors, grip hands and fingers, hear voice conversation, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking occurs daily. Candidate must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher each term and be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Tutor should promote a positive, safe, friendly environment amongst students and staff of diverse cultures and educational levels and have previous tutoring experience.
