Third and final distribution of CRRSAA funds

On November 4th, emails were sent to 1,479 students registered for Fall term advising that the remainder of CRRSAA funds, a limited balance, would be distributed via an application process for students who were experiencing a financial need and had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The email advised students that funds would be distributed to eligible students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the limited amount of funding and a large number of applications received, the application process closed at the end of the day on November 4, 2021.

49 students were awarded $7,277

A balance of $0 remains.


Update 09/30/2021

Second distribution of CRRSAA funds

On July 20 emails were sent to students registered for Summer term advising that the remainder of CRRSAA funds would be distributed via an application process.

116 students were awarded $58,000

A balance of $7,277 was carried forward to Fall term.


Update 06/30/2021

First Distribution of CRRSAA Funds

Umpqua Community College (UCC) signed and submitted to the U.S. Department of Education the Certification and Agreement required to access the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds under Cares Act on April 13, 2020 and received CRRSAA HEERF II grant award automatically.

The total amount of funds that UCC has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students is:

$560,927

Funds are being distributed based on need using a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined by their 20/21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additional funds are also being made available to dual enrolled students, GED students and merit award students who have not completed the FAFSA.

Hi «FIRST_NAME»,

You have been identified as an eligible students to receive the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) funds. These funds are to support students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds are being distributed in five groups based on need using a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined by their completed 20/21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additional funds are also being made available to dual enrolled students, GED students, and merit award students who have not completed the FAFSA.

The College will be distributing these funds directly to you next week using the distribution method you have selected for refunds (check or direct deposit). These funds can be used at your discretion for any necessity expenses you may have, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child-care expenses.

If you have an outstanding UCC balance and would like the funds applied directly toward it, please complete the Authorization Form. Funds will only be applied to any outstanding balance with the competition of this form. Submit completed forms to [email protected] by April130, 2021 using your UCC student email.

These funds were made available by the US Government and are being distributed in accordance with their restrictions and guidelines.

Last week we notified you of your eligibility for the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). It has been determined that based on your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and your current Enrollment Status you are eligible to receive $XXX.XX.

It has taken some time to determine the breakdown of these funds based on the US Government guidelines. These funds will be placed on your account next week and disbursed on Friday. There is still time to complete and submit the Authorization Form, if you have an outstanding UCC balance and would like the funds applied directly toward the balance. Submit completed forms to [email protected] by April 20, 2021 using your UCC student email.
