Getting Started

Steps for new students

The RMC application process is just three steps. Step 1 serves as the college admission. Steps 2 and 3 are for applying to the RMC program. The whole process can be completed in 20-30 minutes. For the best experience, please use a desktop/laptop computer to complete these online forms.

Step 1 of 3:

The first step in the process is applying to Umpqua Community College. UCC does not charge an application fee.

IMPORTANT: For the Planned Course of Study, use the drop-down menu labeled Intended Program of Study and select the following program option:

  • CERT-Business Tech-Retail Mgt

The UCC Admissions Office will process your application and send your student 800 number along with other key information to the email provided during the application process. It can take 48 – 72 hours to receive this email. If you do not receive the email, contact [email protected]. Once you receive the student 800 number, you may proceed to Step 2.

SPECIAL NOTICE: RMC students DO NOT have to take a placement exam. Do not attempt the new student orientation until you begin the RMC pre-work course. Once your registration is processed, you will receive a next steps email regarding the pre-work course.

After applying to UCC and obtaining your student ID, please proceed to step 2 below.

Step 2 of 3:

Steps 2 and 3 are for applying to the RMC program. They can be completed in about 5-7 minutes.

Once you have received your student id# (at the end of the application process in Step 1), you will need to complete the WAFC/RMC application.

Due to a special Memorandum of Understanding between UCC and the WAFC, all registrations for this program go directly through Gary Gray, rather than the traditional registration process. This is to ensure that students who are currently employed in the industry, involved in an employer-sponsored program, and are planning to complete the certificate with UCC receive the special tuition rate of $250 per course.

If you have completed any courses at other colleges, you are encouraged to submit your transcripts when applying to the UCC to see if any of them will apply to our program. The WAFC/RMC program consists of the eight-courses. The program can be completed in one to two years, depending on the number of courses completed per term.

You can locate additional program information at the WAFC website.
