Description
This position performs duties in one or more areas, and may act as a lead worker, in the implementation of diverse assignments needed during the County Fair and/or other occasional events scheduled at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Complex, including, but not limited to alcohol monitoring, parking/traffic control, building security, vendor trouble shooting, prepare and maintain areas for events, and assorted guest services.
- Usher concert patrons at assigned areas of the Fairgrounds; monitor guests and patrons in attendance at events, including but not limited to, watching that alcoholic beverages remain in designated areas;
- Assist in preparing areas for events, including but not limited to, minor painting and repairs, basic maintenance and/or cleaning of grounds and bleachers, installation or removal of signage and/or embellishments;
- Receive and exchange cash transactions and tickets for event fees; open and close assigned booth or game (i.e., Bingo stations); transport currency to/from booths and ticket-taker counters.
- Lock and unlock buildings for appropriate hours of operation; walk the grounds and check that Fairground's facilities are secure;
- Oversee the process of traffic control, receiving parking fees, and the bus routes and visitor parking, including ingress and egress at annual Douglas County Fair;
- Assist Fair Administration with recruiting, hiring and managing staff assigned to daily visitor parking during annual Douglas County Fair;
- Provide various guest services, including but not limited to, assisting and/or acting as liaison to vendors, and courteously respond to public inquiries for assistance.
- Regular and consistent availability is required.
