Earlier this morning, UCC decided to close the UCC campuses immediately in response to a security threat in order to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, faculty, and community. The issue has been resolved and campus will reopen on Feb. 27, 2024.
Highschool students from across Douglas County gathered for a full day of sampling a variety of careers in healthcare, in Jacoby Auditorium, Health Nursing and Science Center (HNSC), and the Tech Center, EMS program area. The day opened with a welcome message from Dr. Rachel Pokrandt, UCC president, and featured an inspirational keynote speaker, Christin Rutledge, Director Area Health Education Center Southwest from Aviva. Students spent the morning and afternoon listening to healthcare industry professionals, viewing demonstrations, and taking part in hands-on activities which included areas such as Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Chemistry, Phlebotomy, Mortuary Science, Pharmacy, Ultrasound, EKG, EMS, Dental, Forensics, and Health Sciences.
Umpqua Community College (UCC) completed an extensive remodel of its library. This transformation elevates modern learning and offers a dedicated space for academic success. Upgrades were made possible as part of a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

The Umpqua Community College (UCC) Director of Registration and Records has announced the 2023 Summer Term Honor Roll. The President’s List (3.75 or higher GPA) is comprised of 19 full-time students (12 credits or more), and 6 students are on the Dean’s List (3.74 to 3.50 GPA).
