Scholars for Health Oregon Initiative-Like (SHOI ) $300k Scholarship Funds

This grant, provided through the Oregon Health Authority, will pay for students tuition and fees in the following eight training programs.

  • Medical Assistant Certificate: This one-year certificate program prepares you for an entry-level position in a medical office.
  • Nursing Assistant: A combination of classroom, skills lab instruction, and hands-on clinical experience will enable you to gain the skills to care for clients in long-term care and acute care facilities that are under the direct care of a licensed nurse.
  • Phlebotomy: In just 11 weeks, this certificate program will equip you with the skills necessary to become an entry-level phlebotomist. 
  • Pharmacy Technician: Our 12 week program will prepare you to take the National Health Career Association’s ExCPT exam. 
  • Dental Assistant: Prepare for employment in a dental office or lab by learning the current concepts of clinical chairside assisting or work in the front office.
  • Peer Recovery Mentor: Get the skills to become a Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) in an Addiction Treatment environment.
  • Addiction Treatment: Get ready to complete the Oregon Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I) exam in just 6 months.
  • Addiction Studies: Become eligible to take the Oregon Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I) exam through this one-year program.
