Community Invited to Explore UCC Event

ROSEBURG, Oregon – On Thursday, March 15, Umpqua Community College (UCC) is opening its doors and inviting the community to Explore UCC. This event is designed for anyone interested in learning more about the College, meeting faculty and staff, and participating in a variety of interactive activities.

Participants can tour the Nursing Department, learn about Art at UCC, visit the state-of-the-art Dental Lab, tour the Welding facility, try out a math puzzle, participate in optics experiments, and do a lot more.

A variety of UCC programs and departments will be featured, including; Business, Computer Information Systems/Computer Science, Engineering, History, Journalism, Short-Term Industry Certifications, Paralegal, Psychology, Public Safety/Paramedic, Spanish, Writing, Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Student Life.

There are so many exciting things happening on campus, Kira Oerman, UCC’s Recruitment Specialist, said. We want people of all ages to have a great time while learning about everything UCC has to offer.

Food and prizes will be available while supplies last. Attendees will also have the option to be entered into a drawing for a $500 scholarship.

There is no cost to attend this event. It is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on the UCC main campus. Registrations will be accepted at the door, but participants are encouraged to pre-register to avoid long lines at the door: https://www.umpqua.edu/enrollatucc.
