Oxford House Dreamer Dreams of Inspiring Future

Today in front of the library on campus, we met Samantha, Robertson. From the Oxford House Dream in Roseburg, Samantha has her dream set on becoming an art therapist and teaching kids. As a first-year Early Childhood Education student, she is looking forward to getting a certificate to enable her to teach at a middle school or in human services, and creating a pathway for herself to getting a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

“I have two kids, ages 11 and 5 and kids are so refreshing. I want to love on them and inspire them. I grew up in a small community and would like to work in smaller rural communities, such as Myrtle Creek, where there is a need for educators.”

“I love the unity and how helpful everyone is here at UCC. The resources and encouraging staff and meeting other students is amazing.”
