ROSEBURG, Oregon – On Monday, June 17, UCC will induct three new members into its Spirit of Umpqua Hall of Fame. Once every five years, the College considers nominations for people to join this elite group, which currently consists of 23 members.
The award, which was established in 1994, honors persons who have made significant contributions to UCC through their actions, talents, dedication, and/or financial support. Their accomplishments advance the College, contribute to the common good, and inspire others to lead a life of service and educational advocacy.
This year, three inductees were selected for entry:
Vic Bridges
Danny Lang
Perry Murray
- Vic Bridges, former UCC Automotive program chair (posthumous award)
- Danny Lang, Douglas County attorney and UCC Foundation board member
- Perry Murray, UCC women’s assistant basketball coach and UCC Foundation board member
These three inductees will have a plaque commemorating their service to UCC placed in the Jacoby Auditorium Lobby. Each plaque includes the inductee’s name, job title or relationship to the College, years of service to or on behalf of UCC, and a formal portrait photo.
The induction ceremony starts at 11 a.m. in Jacoby Auditorium.
