Students who continue into the paramedic program build on existing skills at the advanced life support level and become eligible to test for paramedic licensure upon completion. Licensed EMTs or paramedics have career opportunities with ambulance companies, fire departments, hospitals, and clinics, where they learn to operate in fast-paced situations and provide treatment during a wide range of medical emergencies.
